The Eastern Mediterranean University Faculty of Dentistry offers its students a comprehensive, high-quality dental education supported by a strong academic foundation and an international learning environment.
While studying alongside students from different countries in a multicultural environment, our students develop a strong foundation of knowledge and practical skills in the basic dental sciences.
The Joint Undergraduate Dentistry Program is delivered collaboratively by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Dentistry and the University of Health Sciences (UHS) Gülhane Faculty of Dentistry.
The preclinical phase, covering the first two years of the five-year undergraduate program, is delivered at Eastern Mediterranean University’s Famagusta Campus, which features modern classrooms, fully equipped preclinical laboratories, and a vibrant social and cultural environment.
The clinical phase, covering Years 3, 4 and 5, is completed at the University of Health Sciences Gülhane Faculty of Dentistry and its affiliated healthcare institutions in Ankara, Türkiye. Throughout their clinical training, students encounter a wide variety of cases, enabling them to
enhance their professional knowledge and practical skills while gaining extensive clinical experience.
The language of instruction is English during the first two years in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkish during the final three years in Türkiye. International students are provided with opportunities to learn Turkish throughout their preclinical education, enabling them to communicate effectively with patients during their clinical training.
The EMU Faculty of Dentistry provides high-quality education through a distinguished academic staff with extensive international experience. Our faculty members create an interactive learning environment that encourages active student participation in both theoretical courses and practical training. A rigorous, inclusive and supportive educational approach is adopted to promote students’ academic, personal and professional development.
From the early stages of their education, students are encouraged to develop critical thinking and analytical skills. They are supported in applying these skills and expressing their ideas freely, constructively and confidently.
Students develop the ability to evaluate evidence-based dentistry and apply scientific evidence to clinical practice. They also have opportunities to participate actively in scientific research projects. Educational activities are conducted in a thoughtfully designed learning environment featuring modern teaching and research laboratories equipped in line with the latest scientific developments.
